Fete Dog Show 2019

Bomere Heath & District Parish Council Fete Dog Show 2019

As part of Bomere Heath’s Fete Fun Day on 21 September 2019, a Dog Show is being run for all residents in the Bomere Heath District. No matter what the breed or what the age, all dogs are invited! There will be various ‘Fun’ categories throughout the afternoon:

  • ‘Best bitch’

  • ‘Handsome boy’

  • ‘Like owner’ (Similar in appearance and / or dressed as their dog?!)

  • ‘Loveliest veteran’ – The oldest dog and bitch

  • ‘Junior handler’

  • ‘Waggin’ tail’

  • ‘Best in show’

Experienced dog professionals (who live in the district) will judge the entries, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd of each category receiving a rosette (1st also a certificate) and Best in Show a trophy!

Who can enter?

You can enter your dog for any category and there is a charge of £1 for each category entered. Proceeds will be donated to dog charities.

Owners or ‘the handler’ of the dog can be of any age, but they must be able to control the dog when in the ‘show ring’. Junior handlers must be under 14 yrs. Remember, there will be other dogs in the ring so aggressive dogs should be left at home!

How to enter?

The show ring will be on the playing field of Bomere Heath Primary School, and all the categories will take place between 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Participants are asked to attend the field in person and register their dogs at the ring between 12.00 noon and 1.45pm. They will be given a number and told what time their category will start and they should be ready near to the ring 10 minutes before hand.

It would be helpful if you could register your intention to enter your dog before the day, either by text or phone and provide your name, contact details, dog details and likely categories to Gail Speak on 07762 871564. This will help the organisers with timings and arrangements on the day and help the event run a little more smoothly!

If you do enter your dog, good luck and more importantly have fun!
